Hello, My name is Jill May and I am the Youth Director at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Huntington, WV. I was born in Wheeling, WV and was baptised, confirmed and attended St. Mark Lutheran Church until 1993, when I moved to Huntington, WV to attend Marshall University. I graduated Marshall University with a Bachelors degree in Education , Pre-K-8 with a specialization of Mental Impairment and a minor in History. Huntington became home after meeting my husband, James May.James, and I are blessed with five children who range in ages 2 to 25 years - Dre’ Maverick, Zoe Grace, Piper Marie, Cameron Phillip and Willow Faith.      I received my calling at St. Paul in teaching, caring, nurturing and sharing the Good News with our youth in body, spirit, and mind in August of 2011. Since then, I have continued to love teaching, evangelizing and inspiring our youth to learn the word of our Lord and Savior and to love sharing His Good News to all they meet. I teach Sunday school to the LYO ( Lutheran Youth Organization), middle school to high school age students. I also lead CCC ( Cool to be a Christian Club) and LYO on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm. The youth enjoy food, fun and fellowship by learning scripture that follows the weekly liturgy and applying it to their everyday life. They also serve other children in our community by packing backpacks for Southside Elementary. I am the Leader of St. Paul Lutheran Girl Scout Troop#2882, 4th grade -12th grade. Our Girl Scouts lead our annual Trunk or Treat and work with the youth at St. Paul to evangelize and provide an array of fun through food, games, crafts, snacks, face painting and costume contest to other children and their families in our community during the Fall season. Our CCC and LYO provide the message of Christ’s birth during the Christmas season by performing an annual Christmas musical. Our families and congregation come together to hear, share and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in worship and song. During the summer, I provide leadership in our annual Vacation Bible School program. We have a week of learning, singing and serving the Lord. We always have a service project to help others. We have provided mosquito nets to villages in Africa, bibles to children in India, water filtration systems to other nations, books to begin libraries for homeless children, and the collection of meals and snacks for backpack programs.      I also work for the Huntington Veteran Center and the Army and Marine Recruitment Center in Ashland, KY. As I provide custodial services to these Government agencies through two different companies, I am also able to work with our youth to serve our Veterans in time of need. I work as the Parent Community Liaison at Kellogg Elementary. I serve to help parents, teachers and children in the Westmoreland community. By organizing volunteers, the Library at Kellogg is run and maintained and is known for its plethora of over 12,000 books. Lastly, I also serve as assistant to Reece Booth and his photography studio. I commonly make the joke of having one job for each child. Through all of my works, I pray that God works through me as I am His servant. I will continue to work for the Lord in His House and in all of His creation. “ I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.”- Ephesians 1:18
